Am I Crazy?

I started this today and will be doing it for the next 21 days.
I found it on Pinterest. Of course. Am I little bit crazy for doing this? It's not like I currently have four different kinds of ice cream in my freezer. Or a huge stash of candy corn in my room.

At least I waited until Halloween was over to start. Wish me luck and don't expect any yummy cupcake recipes anytime soon :)

The Essie Bandwagon

There is only one bad thing I have to say about Pinterest. If you're not familiar with Pinterest, check out this post I wrote a while back to learn about it.

I love it, but it makes me want to go into craft mode, and I have neither the time, resources nor money to make all the projects I want to make. I don't get to decorate a fireplace mantle because my apartment doesn't have a fireplace. Forget taking on any furniture transformations, I have no where to keep them. Guess that means I will have to do lots of projects while I am home for Christmas break, right?

I can bake and cook though. Whenever I don't know what to make for dinner, Pinterest usually solves my problem.

Pinterest has also introduced me to some great product lines. Take Essie for example. Essie is a nail polish brand that is all over Pinterest. I wasn't familiar with Essie before Pinterest. I don't usually spend money on nail polish, and when I do, it's because it was on sale. Everyone kept pinning pictures of Essie nail polish, so I decided to try it out.

My brother and his girlfriend got me a few bottles of Essie nail polish for my birthday (she picked it all out).  She got me several different colors to try, and so far I have loved them all. I put on this lovely color the other night and love it.
It's called "Buy Me a Cameo." Very pearly and pretty.

I have hopped on the Essie bandwagon.

Falling for Fall

Fall is here! Fall is my favorite season of the year. I love the leaves, the cool weather, fall clothes, fall recipes, bonfires and football games. I should probably also mention my birthday is in fall :) I am so ready for everything fall, but have been a little disappointed with fall so far. It's time for the SC humidity and warm temperatures to go. We have had quite a few rainy, yucky mornings here, and I like to sip my coffee inside and pretend that it 's cold outside. Of course, I am hit with reality once I open my front door. A girl can dream, right?

Another major disappointment has been the lack of pumpkin products at my grocery store. I have scoured the aisles looking for pumpkin pie filling during my last two shopping trips. They don't have it yet! I left the store disappointed today, my cart full of all the other ingredients for pumpkin pie cupcakes. I have two events this weekend I was hoping to make pumpkin cupcakes for, so I am crossing my fingers that they will get pumpkin pie filling later this week.

Even though the weather has been hot and I haven't been able to find my ingredients, I still have high hopes for fall. I know it won't let me down. Sometimes summer likes to wear out its welcome before it lets fall take the stage. In the meantime, I will prepare for its grand appearance by finding lots of fall things on Pinterest :) Here are the cupcakes I am planning to make...
I will be sure to let you know how they turn out!

My New (P)interest

Allow me to share my latest interest with you - Pinterest. Pinterest is a new social media site that acts as a virtual bulletin board. You can "pin" photos into categories from almost any website (except Facebook). Many people use it to make inspiration boards for their home, wedding, wardrobe etc. Similar to Twitter, you can "follow" other peoples boards and also "repin" photos you like. However, unlike Twitter, Pinterest isn't about self-promotion and trying to get as many followers as possible. Followers are good, but I see Pinterest is a way to archive my own creative inspirations while also having the opportunity to view other's inspirations.

Here is what you will see when you sign into Pinterest:

So pleasing to my eyes.

Here is a shot of my boards so far.

I love how everything is so organized and clean.

So far, I have mostly just repinned photos from other people's boards, with the exception of pinning a few photos of my own.

I always see fun projects or gift ideas I want to remember, but I don't have an organized method of bookmarking and saving links. Pinterest is perfect for this because it not only allows me to categorize the photo, but it also links back to the original website, allowing me to visit it whenever I want.

Right now, Pinterest is invite only. You can request an invite and they will grant you access to the site (that's what I did), or I can invite you if you want! Just let me know.
