And Then I Became a World Record Holder....

Shake it to break it. And break it we did.

Last Thursday night, over 1,300 Clemson Students gathered at Littlejohn Coliseum to attempt to break the world record for the most people doing Zumba at one time. Clemson's rival, USC, currently held the record  of 1,135 people. Clemson broke that record Thursday night. And I got to be a part of it. I currently hold a world record. Nbd.

Click here or go to the Facebook event page to see some photos. Here is a video clip from the event. Promise they are worth checking out! It was crazy! There were SO many people there. Literally had no elbow room. It was so fun though. Zumba is popular at Clemson and three of the Zumba instructors took turns leading the dances. Official Guiness World Record people were there to witness the event. It was legit. And now I hold a world record...sort of.

Chocolaty Peanut Butter Goodness

So I got a baking itch this weekend. I was supposed to be studying so that might have had something to do with it. However, I decided not to bake because I didn't want to go to the grocery and didn't want to mess up my kitchen.

That was before my boyfriend offered to go to the store for me. I think he likes it when I bake. So after his generous offer I decided to start looking for some recipes. Decided to go with cupcakes since they are one of my specialties :) After sifting through some recipes I found this recipe on this blog.

Super Duper Office

This past week, I had the opportunity to watch a photo shoot for Greenville's new TOWN magazine. TOWN is a recently released magazine that features art, fashion, culture, along with social scene in Greenville. My boss just so happens to be the fashion editor for the magazine, so she thought it would be a fun experience for me to come watch a photoshoot for May's upcoming fashion spread. Let me tell you, this spread is going to be amazing. Not only did she put some great outfits together, but the spread was shot at a building that is possibly the coolest building in Greenville. Now Greenville has some beautiful, old, unique buildings, but that is not where we shot. We shot at Super Duper Publications on Pelham Road. If you live in Greenville, it's the building that looks like a castle from the outside. The outside is unique, but no words can describe the inside of the building. When I walked in, I felt like I was walking into an IKEA showroom. The place was amazing. As I strolled wide-eyed through the conference rooms, I learned the also have 16 themed bathrooms, which is where we shot the majority of the photos for the May spread. These are NOT your typical bathrooms, in fact the toilet is the last thing you notice in most of them.  I was kicking myself for not having my camera with me. Here are a few pictures I snapped with my phone.

This bathroom is called "Girl Power." I think you can see why.

"The Princess Powder Room." I will say the life size doll is a little creepy.

"Cowboys and Cowgirls."

I should also mention that each bathroom had music, candles, and lighting fixtures that went along with the theme of each bathroom. No overhead lights for this place. If you want to "take a tour" of the bathrooms virtually, you can actually go to their website and see them. Here a few other photos of conferences rooms.

Egytian themed conference room. Yes that is a camel
Egyptian themed conference room. Please notice the camel.

They also had a lunch room set up like a diner for the employees to go during their lunch break. No, it was not a working restaurant, but it did have a jukebox. Next to the diner was  break room complete with pool tables and massage chairs. So cool.

You have got to check out the fashion section of TOWN's May issue. Just remember, most of the shots took place in bathrooms. Including the black room with neon lights everywhere.

Walk this Way

Fabulous shoes. Fantastic accessories. Models walking the runway in burlap sacks. The first two sound normal, the third not so much. This list basically makes up the components of the Walk this Way runway show I worked at Thursday night. The runway show was the first event I worked at for my internship. Definitely a success. Very fun and unique event.

A few months ago Taryn (my boss) added Ecy Shoes n' Chic to her list of clients, a dream client for her. Ecy Shoes n' Chic is a new shoe store in downtown Greenville. If you are in Greenville and haven't checked it out, you definitely need to go by. Taryn told me about the event a few months ago and I have been looking forward to it ever since. It was definitely a fun event, but it made me realize I never want to be a full-time event planner. Events are hard work! The event itself was glamorous, but the seven hours we spent setting up and rehearsing the event were anything but glamorous. However, I will say that I enjoyed unpacking and putting all the "outfits" together for the models. I loved opening each box of shoes to see what I was going to find :)

Here are a few shots from the show. The show was held at Thornblade, and as you can see, shoes and accessories were the main focus. Ivy Salon (another one of Taryn's clients) did an awesome job with the models' hair and makeup.
